  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I'm in the tax department under the team of general Corporate Tax, although I get involved in work from many teams. So far in my time at PwC I have learnt how to complete a VAT return, how the firm bills clients, I have attended 3 Client meetings. Also I have a gained a better understanding of the roles each team carry out.

  • I have learnt a lot in my 6months being at PwC, this includes how to complete a VAT return independently. • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the Apprenticeship as it has provided me an opportunity to continuing learning through completing my ATT qualification, whilst gaining experience in the office. Everyone has been so friendly and has helped me settle in fast. If I had the chance to change the route I took, I wouldn't!

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I would say my programme is structured well, there's a clear route of progression for my first 4years at the firm. Also, there's a good balance between study days at college and being in the office. The firm keeps us up to date with key dates we need to be aware of e.g. training days and exam dates.

  • PwC provide a range of support groups which include Career Coaches, Buddies, PQ Course Managers, Kaplan Tutors and Kaplan Talent Coaches. • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider is Kaplan. They provided us with a lot of resources in order to help us exceed in our exams, this includes study manuals, question banks, memory joggers aswell as 4 mock exams. They also have a good helpline service where if you have any questions regarding admin or help for the exams they respond really fast. The only thing I wish they did provide us with is college days for our Computer Based Exams, as currently they only help us with our written exams.
