  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Just started but very good and has already made me think about work differently. I have been able to focus on course when off site alongside being given time on the job. I am sharing new learnings with peers and reports and putting these in to action. Still early days but a good start.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very good. All dates for course and submissions given up front which makes planning ahead easier. The first weekend was very beneficial to meet and have a network ahead of getting in to the makn body of the course. . Slifht issue is moodle is not the easiest to navigate but i am sure that will come with time.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I had good support in finding a course provider with a number of prospectus' and open days attended. Signing up and getting the contract signed was very easy and straightforward too. Since starting i have had no problems with being released and time has been made to study whilst on the job too.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • There are good comms via the moodle, uni email account and the plethora of tutorials online. When i have had any issues, these have bee dealt with remotely by the library staff. Support on the three day block sessions on the campus have been good but hard to say with first moduke starting on Weds.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Its is applicable, makes you think differe tly on how you perform role and is geared towards vocational application. It is a little to early to determine if i am better performing in my role but i have every confidence as i move along the course there will be takeaways that i will apply and improve my own performance.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I have already been able to attend a networking event in London that focused on a different industry to the one i currently work in. This has resulted in me booking in some time with a sister business to understand their process, market, challenges and stfengths. There are none internal to my business but others that are industry specific.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Allied Bakeries?
  • Be prepared that it is not a normal 9-5 business and is a tough, demanding sector. You will be given automony to make your own decisons and it is important that you can make swift, considered choices but also learn from mistakes. You need to understand the operation and how we get to market.
