  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a support worker for individuals with learning disabilities. My day to day roles are to support these individuals to be or remain as independent as possible whilst respecting there choices and respect. Also ensuring that they are safe at all times.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many skills that I have put into practice regarding how people act and why, more knowledge around learning disabilities and legislations.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed it a lot as I am a very keen learner, my tutor [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] also made the experience more enjoyable as I knew I had constant support whilst completing my work.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme was very structured, I always knew what was going on and when I was seeing my tutor. It was also known I could contact my tutor if needed which was helpful.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • At the time of my programme I didn’t receive much support from the then manager but my team leader was very helpful and supported me with work I wasn’t too sure on.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • When I was completing my programme my tutor [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] was very supportive, she was always helpful when I was unsure and never made me feel stupid, she also always made it clear that I could contact her at anytime if I needed extra support, she also let me know when I was doing good work which gave me a good boost and kept me motivated.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think it has helped a lot as it has made me eager to learn more and work my way up through the company. It has also made me understand things better and be able to put new things into practice.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Paragon Skills to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • From my experience the tutor was very professional whilst keeping a friendly comfortable manner which I feel is very important when learning something new as you want to feel as though they will help you with no passing judgement.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Paragon Skills?
  • Don’t be afraid to ask for help as it’s always on hand.
