  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the program, but was slightly delayed at first. I enjoy that I am using skills I have never learnt before. Whitehat seems to have a great community and I get on well with my coach. I am enjoying learning how I can use my efficiently skills at work.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Changing to our new provider (whitehat) meant that the course was structured much better. We have a great structure where we get 8/9 hours a week of time off normal work to do apprenticeship tasks assignments and objectives. The course seems well structured so far, meaning we complete our exams early on to reduce stress.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support from Bloomberg ranging from intensive financial courses to support from other employees as well as many 1-1 meetings with our managers and mentors. One great thing is that we have multiple mentor figures that we can go to if we have any issues or need help.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Our training provider is Whitehat. They are really supportive with a designated coach who teaches and helps us in the apprenticeship. Our coach provides a lot of support, always being available as a point of contact to go to with questions or if we are needing help with coding/apprenticeship assignments,

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The Data Analyst qualification is not directly linked to our day-to-day jobs so it is not the most helpful in performance in my current role. The work we do is more dealing with clients which requires a lot of useful soft skills that are not developed as much during the apprenticeship.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, there are lots of BOB- Bloomberg Philanthropy events. These range from volunteering, charity, sustainability where anyone in the company has the opportunity to join in and all proceeds go to charity, which is a great way to get involved. There are also a lot of networking events held in the department.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Bloomberg to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Bloomberg has a lot of benefits and a great community. I feel whoever you are, you will find a group of friends and also be accepted into the workplace. I find it great that we also get free snacks and drinks that makes it much easier to keep focused and energised at work.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Bloomberg?
  • I would advise that you need to make sure to prove that you have a natural drive for success. From my experience, they do not hire the person that knows everything, but the person that who will think creatively and work hard in order to find out the answer. Everyone I have met here also has a natural drive to work hard.
