  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Day to day role involves visiting clients, talking with team members and creating daily trackers/ to do lists of what tasks the team is going to aim to complete. Some days may be resourced to stock count whereby you attend a client warehouse for example and have to undertake stock count procedures and report to the manger of the job

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Throughout the placement/ scheme learnt a lot of new skills - This included gaining new skills on the Microsoft office suite as well as learning new skills on PwC audit software such as Aura and the Count App. Skills were particularly developed on Microsoft Excel and made use of Pivot table and other functions in order to sort the data.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Enjoyed all aspects of the programme. This was down to a variety of factor, for example the teams I worked on throughout the placement were social and fun work to work with. In addition to this, I enjoyed the programme as felt as though i was learning new things all the time.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme was very well structured, For example there was regular meetings set up in order to check progress on the Job and to raise any concerns we might have when on it. In addition, we were booked to Jobs before our placement began, this meant we could get started right away

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • We receive a lot of support from our employer and is very flexible in order to meet outside of work commitments. This means when we are on the programme we feel supported. In addition, if we were to have a question on something we were not sure about - there would be a lot of people who would be keen to help out.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We receive a lot of support from our training provider such as posting questions in order to attempt and always being there in order to answer the questions in which we may have. Through this we feel well supported even though do not get face to face contact for an extended period of time.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The assurance and the audit and assurance qualification allows us to directly appply what we have learnt as the content covered in the qualification is very comparable and similar to the day to day work in which is performed. In addition it also gives us more understanding as to why we perform what we do

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are a lot of extra-curricular activities to get involved in at work. For example Professionally- There is office open evening where you can network with people who are considering applying for the role. There is weekly football played on a monday night and also Christmas and summer formals. This created a more social atmosphere.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would definitely recommend PwC to a friend as it allows you to grow professionally as well as meet like minded motivated people. As well as this, the professional qualification which goes with the reward is both challenging and rewarding at the same time. For all these reasons and more I would recommend PwC to a friend.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
  • The tips and advice I would give to others applying to PwC is to be yourself and focus on the experience in which you've had and the impact in which they've had on you as a person. In addition it is useful to link these experiences to the PwC professional framework.
