  • I am an Operations manager for a large insurance company that overseers and manages risk and performance.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I've learnt new skills esepcially in communication and understanding more about peoples emotions and responding with empatahy. I've learnt a lot about project work and the importance of captuing risk and tracking key milestones throughout to esnure success and learning from what went wrong.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • It was very difficult but I enjoyeed learning new skills to use with my teams. I found the project work the most rewarding and benefical for my own self velopment.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It was very well organised and my tutor and mentor Paula Dennis was an absolute class act and a credit to ILM

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer supported me throughout the whole course giving me all the time needed to complete the course but also supporting me in using my new skills.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • As much as I wanted/needed as mentioned Paula my coach was phenomenol and really cared about supporting you through tough times.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I need to put the learnings in to practice but I can already see that it's changed my own personal view of how I look and deal with my role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I have the opporutnity to attend social activities to represent my business and as a result of my qualification am asked to do so regularly.

  • Yes

  • Because its company that genuinely cares about developing their staff to be better in themselves and for the business goals.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Saga plc?
  • Don't worry about the economical difficulties you are reading in the papers and experience a great culture yourself first hand.
