  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • In my day to day bases I morning stands up to discuss what each person will be working on for the day. This is an easy method for the scrum master to see what work is being worked on for each sprint and what might need to be worked on.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • During the recruitment process I was open in saying I had no knowledge of technology but have a interest in it and was keen to learn in it. Having started my career within Accenture I have gained many skills such as: basic coding, communication, excel, learning different programming languages and even work politics.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • As any employee I enjoy work when my hard work pays off. This program has been a great kick start to my career within the technology industry. Being able to say at the end of my three year program that I worked for a leading technology consulting business will hugely benefit and separate me from graduate that have worked a placement year.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The program is a little unorganized as it is such a large company, however in saying that compared to other similar program it is one of the best structured out there. Degree apprenticeships are still a new concept, which means a lot of trial and errors have to take place before the program can be structure to the best standard for the apprentices.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The employer are incredible supportive of the apprenticeship as most have gone through university and got there degree the traditional way. Having them understand the stress of university when they were in education for full time helps them be supportive and offer advice or give extra time to work of any uni work that might need to be completed.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I go to university every week on a Monday, so if there is anything I need support with, from the university I'm able to directly ask them when I see them on Mondays. Unless you ask for help or support you wont get it so it is important to discuss any issues you may have so they're able to help resolve it with you.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Sometimes my qualification benefits the role I work for at that time in moment for Accenture. Accenture being a consulting company means you're constantly change job roles and developing your skills within technology. However sometimes there has been times where I'm learning two things at a time, one at work to benefit my project and the other being university which is related to the degree.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Work encourages you to help spend time in extra curricular activities, they have different societies and if they don't have one you like you can create your own one. In Accenture there are many different personal networking events which people are encouraged to go to because it helps network and branch out to new people within the business.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Accenture to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Accenture has been a great experience to work with even though I'm in my first year of my degree apprenticeship. So far the atmosphere of working within my team has been great and I haven't had any bad experiences of anything yet. Also I feel valued within the business as an employee and not just a apprentice. Being able to work and earn at the same time has been a great opportunity for me and has led to me being able to buy my first house already.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Accenture?
  • If you're looking to apply for Accenture first you should read the job description. Its important that you understand the job you're applying for. I would also research about the business, I had to do this as I never heard of the business before I saw a job advertised. Lastly in the interview make sure you ask a lot of questions so you can see if the company is someone you want to work for as well as the company seeing if you fit the business needs
