  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • my role is a customer service advisors I interact with customers to handle any questions a customer may have I provide information about Santander products and services. in my day to day most my calls are helping customer with their banking, I do transfer, balanced and help customer get on their online banking and many other things, if customer is having a issue with their banking my job is to solve that problem and help them.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed skills while working at Santander which are being Patience as sometime you are on the phone to elderly customer who need a little bit more time in proving their banking details. I now have the ability to remain calm under pressure as a customer could be having a problem with their banking and are trying to rush you I know to stay calm. I improve my timekeeping skills and working in a team.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the programme as everyone that I work with are friendly and their always someone their who is willing to help you and guide you. I enjoy being part of my team as everyone on the team get along and help you out, sometime the job can be less enjoyable as it can be hard taking call after call and sometime you feel like your doing the same thing over and over again.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • the programme is structured well as you are on the phone most of the time so you are learning more about the job such as following the processes and learning how deal with customers. you need write up calls and do some coursework as this goes to your course sometime it might be best get a little bit more time in doing the writing work.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • get a lot of support from our employer as they are always their to help such as managers if you stuck on a hard call and finding it hard to find the answer on the I-Exchange you can always go to a manger who is willing to help you. you also got floorwalker who help you get used to the phones and process when you start the job.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • their is always support from our trainer, when we can write up a call that has to go toward our Course we can send it across by email where Suzanne would read the work and send back any improvement that can be made, this is always helpful as you know your putting the best work across for your course.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • are training provider is always showing what stranded of work you need to send across to get the best qualification, they wont submit any work that they believe is not going to get you the best qualification, they are always their to give back any feedback that can improve your work.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Santander do offer a lot of different networks you can get involved and support, a really popular one is the mental wellbeing network this is to help colleagues to develop and maintain a positive mental wellbeing, Santander have this network to help raise awareness and host events across Santander locations for colleagues. their is many more activates and networks you can get involve in by going to we are Santander would have list of them.

  • yes I would recommend a friend to Santander as it got some many different choices for a person as you can move to different departments or work your way up to become a manger or as trainer. Santander work with you to get the best and want you to be successful in you career.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Santander?
  • the tips or a advice I would offer to others when apply is to do your research and see if working in a bank is a job that is going to do suit you. also see what type of work you would like work with such a different departments like fraud or retail to see what might best suit you and also to be yourself when going to the interview.
