  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Attending site for morning briefing which is the 1st golden rule. My tasks include from site set up, setting fences and cabins up, or laying pipes in the middle of Blackpool. Other things include like curbing and cleaning up or making sure the storage areas are clean and upto standard.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Over the 2 years I’ve developed many skills, my biggest one is my confidence. Starting out at Jn Bentley I had hardly any confidence or near enough non, but working around large groups of people was scary at first but I haven’t met one bad person. Other. B

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy doing my apprenticeship, the best thing about work is probably the people who I work with, apart from doing the work they make sure there’s entertainment in the day which makes doing the work more enjoyable.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It’s fairly well organised. I’d prefer If we had more communication with our employers to see how we’re getting on. The college side of the work is well organised, working with your tutor who helps you through your work and gives you all the help and support you need.

  • I think we get enough support if we do need anything we can just ask our employer and they’ll sort anything we need

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We do get a lot of support from your tutor. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] was my tutor and helped me through my work and made everything simple for me.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • A good company to work for, they care about there employees and make sure you have support or anything you need they’ll make sure you have it. If you work hard and show your interested they’ll support you and give you the chances you want.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to JN Bentley?
  • Don’t let the big working environments and people put you off. Be confident, get involved and be interested.
