  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • It was daunting when starting this role as i am a young girl starting in the construction industry, i had no previous experience and i had to put myself on a site and tell site managers who have years of experience that they are doing something wrong/not working safely. However, everyone I have worked with/spoken too have been so supportive and understand I am learning and everyone starts somewhere. I am really enjoying my programme and know the more experience I have the more I will continue to like it and excel in the role. JN Bentley is a great company for benefits , events and all of my colleagues have been so supporting helpful in my development.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is structured well, I have a college session once a month with college work assigned to me. i have progress reviews with both college and my line manager every 3 months. I have Weekly catch ups with my line manager with opportunities to discuss issues. I am given the opportunities to focus on college work when and as I need. My team members are regularly asking me if I need any evidence to submit to college so they can help. It is helpful that someone else in my team is also going through the same programme so we can discuss and help each other along the way.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I am supported a lot by my line manager and colleagues. We speak everyday and have a weekly front of mind call. I am constantly asked if my workload is to much, if i feel okay with everything, if i need help with anything which is great. On a bigger scale i feel supported as we have so many benefits, online mental health help etc, happiness surveys.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Myself and my college assessor have a dedicated hour monthly college session, this is where we discuss work he assigned me last month, work he's going to assign me this month and work in general. I email a few times over the month to check I'm completing it right in which he always replies to promptly. I have been supported with work books and guidance sheets.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • A lot of my college questions are questions on how JN Bentley work, Completing these questions have been good as its made me research why and how we do things here. Questions also are about legislations, this again has made me research the legislations and how we are compliant with them all. My qualification helps me perform better as it introduced me to the legislation and role in general for me to build on and extend my knowledge myself.
