Maintaining BTs internal network, ensuring the buildings are at the correct temperature. Ensuring power remains on to the network despite power outages in the area. Maintaining all of the back up equipment both preventative and proactive maintaince on this equipment. Also dealing with lighting, fire safety and emergency lighting to the buildings.
No pre existing knowledge from starting I have a much better background into mechanical and electrical issues and how to fault find prove them then later fix them. I now understand much more behind the theory of both the electrical and mechanical side as well as the real world applications.
Every day with in BT is different. Weather that be a different job or within a different site within BT. I enjoy learning about everything BT has to offer both their employees but also their customers and how I make a difference to these customers within my role at BT.
Very well organised with many people I am aware I can contact should I need help within or outside of the workplace. It is a really well oiled machine to get me through my course quickly and effectively whilst teaching me along the way. A very good program for BT
The support is unlimited from my employer which is great. There are many sources to get this from and the people who provide this support are both friendly and helpful. It seems nothing is too much of an issue for them. A great team providing this support for a BT,
Stoke college is not the best in the world to be honest. Their training methods and trainers are outdated. The staff don't seem to want to teach us or know the content themselves. It is a shame because the BT staff within stoke college are amazing and very supportive but the college itself is poor in my opinion
The course itself doesn't always link up to my day to day job role. It would be nice to get a little explaination as to how the theory and learning from the college applied to real world either within BT or outside of BT. That would be a better way to learn.
I personally am not involved in any activates due travel issues. There is plenty to be getting involved in within both BT and BT Madley where I am based that I will be intrested in getting involved with in the future. I very much look forward to seeing exactly what they do.
Yes
Amazing supportive company with a very friendly team. The company never ceases to amaze you what it does for its customers and local communities and how it plays a vital role in modern life. It really looks after the wellbeing of their staff and takes all of their issues very seriously.
Don't hesitate just do it I can assure you that you will not regret it. This is a great company and if you can get involved you have a very good job that will be around for many years to come. The retention of staff is very high because it treats its staff so well
