  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt plenty of new skills. Many being computer related and more specifically, excel related as we work with spreadsheets a lot. I have learnt many different formulas and understanding how they work. While I have been here I have learnt a lot about the type of works we deal with, as prior to the job I had little to no knowledge of the works JNB do.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the programme a lot because it is different to other apprenticeship scheme. In regards to how we have a mentor for each apprentice. The mentor providing work and support is great and I have found it very useful and reassuring. My mentor provides me with work and is always happy to answer any questions I may have or help me out whenever I get stuck.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I believe the programme was very well structed. Starting with 2 weeks in Derby and being put up in a hotel so I didn't have to have a long drive to and from derby each day. Once the 2 week induction, covering a lot of the health and safety and what JNB do, we then took a test at the end of the 2 weeks for our CSCS cards. From the off at the office, I have had plenty of support from the people around me and my mentor. I would say that the programme is very well organised

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive plenty of support from the provider to get my qualifications. If I ever email, they reply. I have also arrived to college early and the tutor has been there and has given me 1 to 1 prior to the lesson officially commencing, which I have found very helpful.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I believe it helps us get a better understanding of all aspects to the works that are being carried out and where the work we do in the office helps to contribute towards the job. Especially in the first 2 weeks in Derby. The training provider covered everything that we could of possibly needed in great detail to help prepare us for when we were coming to the office.
