  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Maintaining the changes on different circuit sizes that could affect Bloomberg's network or not. I would have to base this on a east/west schedule and if the circuit is in use within trading hours of that specific country. Communicating to vendors such as COLT, BT, ETC that Bloomberg have circuits with on and discuss positive and negatives we have had using there services. Overlooking our EMEA shared email address to update our tickets that our different reps in EMEA are working on currently so that reps are made aware of any updates from vendors on any progress. Furthermore this allows me to create maintenance tickets that different vendors will issue to Bloomberg outside of trading hours to repair, update a circuit that we have on our network. Installing different types of hardware in our data center such as servers, routers, power strips, ETC. I also improve cable and device management by colour coding, cable ties, labeling and overall tidiness.
