  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • while doing this apprenticeship it has given me the opportunity to expand in my role and have a go at doing some stock. this has taught me the process of how stock makes it onto the shelf. the academic side has taught me some key features of retail too such as what type of customer their are and my communication.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • i enjoy doing stock as it is something different to my role. my team are brilliant. they are supportive and help me with any difficulties i have. i enjoy the program as i like to learn and being back in this atmosphere helps me to push myself to the limit.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • i have just had a change over with my mentor, my next appointment was quite far away from my previous. however he has been filled in on my progres. the time i get off of the shop floors varies, i haven't completed any work for a few weeks but this is not directly the apprenticeship at blame.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • my employer gives me an adequate amount of support. my line manager is very helpful with assisting me with some of the tasks that i don't fully understand. however to be improved i need to be given the correct amount of time of the shop floor. this is improving though by me being allowed to complete it on weekends.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • i receive a follow up every month or so to go over my previous work and get information on the next course. however i have only had one follow up and that was a phone call, i would have understood better if i was person. my next one is still far away so i currently artn getting a lot of help but this should change when things settle down more.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • as it still early stages i am struggling to see any substantial change at the moment. however with progress in the course i expect to know far more about retail and the processes to then push into a supervisor role or management role in the future. however i am learning communication which should improve my interaction skills.
