  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is to analyse the daily bank statements for 1/3 of the retail group's sites. This involves posting and reconciling the accounts. I also have daily contact with the fnancial controllers of the sites if there is money we have recieved that is different to what they say they have spent or recieved and find out why there is a difference. I also have a direct contact with the bank if there are any errors with things showing on the bank statement or if i need further clarification if there is a strange reference that I am not familiar with.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • My ICT skills have improved especially with excel as I have to work on it for the majority of my tasks. I have been taught functions like vlookups that I am not as confident with. I have also improved my maths skills by working in finance and am able to work out the tax on certain amounts which is a key part of my role.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the work side of things more than the apprenticeship itself, I feel like I am expected to know much more than I do about current aspects of my course and want there to be specific training that is provided to help me complete my work rather than being expected to do the majority of it myself

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is well structured, there is a progress bar that my assessor shows me where I am commpared to where I should be in line with where I am in my apprenticeship. I have picked which assessments are most well suited to my education and know how many of these have to be completed prior to doing the course.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I recieve an adequate amount of support, however it seems like the apprentice side of my employment is very seperate to my actual day to day work so my manager hardly speaks to me about this. If I have work to do for my apprenticeship I don't feel like my manager is aware I am having to do this along side my everyday work so doesn't help to ease my workload so I don't fall behind

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I don't feel like I am actually being taught much, I am rather doing work that is being set and finding the answers through google, it would be good to have physical training on the modules I am completing. However my assessor is helpful if I find myself stuck on any questioins he will always point me in the right direction.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I dont think there is a direct correlation with what I do in my role and the qualification, the questions I get asked hardly ever directly relate to the work I am doing and if I am struggling with something in my day to day work then the people in my team or my manager will help me and train me with this.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I think there should be more of an oppertunity for the apprentices to meet as this rarely happens, it is on you to get in contact or start talking to other apprentices if you started at different times. There are oppertunities for events such as quizzes and christmas parties however.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Stellantis to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I believe there are good perks to the job that many other apprenticeships dont offer such as good pay, car scheme and discounts. I feel like I am a valued part of the business and have been given the oppertunity to progress to higher roles which have a higher demanding

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Stellantis?
  • It is important to speak up if you ever have any issues and try and do as much as you can to make yourself known as a valued member of the company. If you ever wish to progress or arent comfortable with the role you have been given you should speak to your manager or HR as everyone is happy to help you
