My role here at AO World PLC and AO Logistics here in Crewe involves connecting AO as a brand and employer to local schools, companies and youth charities looking to get young people employed and interested in work, especially logistics work at AO. We work with Future Talent in order to source the best talent to work for AO in the coming years.
I've learned more on confidence and people skills as I have met a load of new types of people including working with SEN Children and presenting to them and making sure they are engaged and aware of their task and what they need to do in order to continue and succeed.
I really do enjoy the program. It has let me develop and defiantly reconsider all of my professional career options within the logistics sector as it is one that I never thought I would be interested in or work in out of choice. It has defiantly let me look more into my career options.
The programme is very well structured. I was inducted very well. It was all very interesting and real-life and was kept flowing well. The training I received was ok. I like to learn hands on, and was sort of thrown into some tasks with the ground running, but personally I like doing that.
I receive a lot of support from my employer. During my short time here I have already seen the support available from my colleges regarding personal health and issues outside of work which I greatly appreciate. I am also aware of the support available provided my AO as in problems like financial, personal and smoking.
Personally, I have not yet started with my training provider. I am new to apprenticeships and have not yet been introduced. I am looking forward to starting with these qualifications and getting started with my training provider and getting into a learning environment again. We are looking to start doing this September time I believe.
I feel that the qualification that I will receive as part of this exciting apprenticeship here with AO Logistics will help me preform better within my role as it will make sure I am aware of what i am doing more and will be able to put what I have learnt into practice.
There are countless extra-curricular activities that I am able to get involved with at work. AO offer the S T A R Programme within the company, this allows you to develop within the company whilst working socially within the team and completing a lot of social and charity work outside of the company.
Yes
I would defiantly recommend working here at A O Logistics to a friend. The opportunities that AO have given me have been amazing. I have been able to meet a load of new connections and businesses across the area to help build my network and portfolio. The atmosphere of the company is really nice and relaxed and is defiantly a company that treats their employers well.
The only tips that I would give to others applying to AO is to honestly be yourself and let you show who you are and be as AO as you can. AO are constantly recruiting but they only look for people that show all of their amazing and current values.
