  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • In my first year I am currently working in the training school. I am there for 4 and half days a week. On Monday it is BTEC day so I'm in the class room. The other days I am downstairs in the workshop. In the workshop we have a four week rotational programme.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have been enjoying my time here as I get along with everyone and it is a friendly working environment. As apprentices we are improving and pushing each other on to get the best out of ourselves. It is a great company to work for and they look out for the apprentices

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is structured well. There are regular reviews to see how the apprentices are getting on and we receive feedback every time we carry out a task. Although I feel the tutors in the workshop don't give enough support if someone is struggling. There is no support plan in place.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • We receive support for BTEC where we able to go to extra maths lessons on Monday evening and Wednesday morning. This allows us to go over things we don't understand and improve on assignments. However in the workshop I feel we someone is struggling there is no support plan because it is a four week rotational programme and everything is rushed.
