  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I've learnt how to deal with customer complaints and queries. And how to serve food and drinks in a pub atmosphere. Hows to interact with each and every customer on a daily basis whether new or existing. It has also built my confidence around people and within myself. I have also learnt how to work within a team who work hard.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I somewhat enjoyed it but it was very difficult finding to time to spend with your trainer and do the homework. I had moved twice and worked lots of hours and lack of staff ment I didn't have a long time to train. Although I would like to do my level 3 as now I have abit more time to commit.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It was very difficult to be structured when you don't have the time to see your trainer or get online to do the homework set. The one good thing is 95% of the time me and my trainer kept in touch to know what was going on with appointments etc

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • When I first started my programme I was without a manager for 6months and in this time I had very little support from anyone. Although when my manager finally did come in she supported me the rest of my nvq. Maybe my level 3 will be easier to do now with some guidance in place

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider couldn't have been more supportive. She helped me with a lot of thing I couldn't answer due to not having a manager. She helped and showed me how I would research thing and gave me sites I could use to help me learn and progress more

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Doig my qualification helped me a lot within my role. It pushed me to learn how to change a barrel and how to engage with the customers. It taught me how to be the best I can be as what I do. And that your not always foing to have and easy day but with the right support each day becomes easier with the knowledge you gain.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • No, our pub is very social but we don't really supply extra curriculum activities. With a cut in staff we all work very long hours and don't usually want to do anything but go to sleep. But it would be something that I bring up in the next staff meeting.
