  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • as an administrator I process payments, orders and invoices as well as general admin work. I work on a construction site and in head office. on site I am the only admin person so I deal with any paperwork or accounts that need possessing. I am also in charge of making sure the site workers have up to sate ID'S and certificates

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • yes, I have learnt how to use excel properly. I am now a trained first aider and can complete general admin work as well as more complicated administration. I have also learnt a lot about construction sites, the health and safety policies and what must be in place to insure it is safe

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my program very much- a lot more than I thought I would. I learn a lot doing my job and feel that I am good at it too. I have mixed in well with other employees and see myself staying at this job for a long time- if not forever

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • the program is very well organized and structured, I have had no issues and I am finding it very straight forward and easy to follow. I do not have any complaints or issues. It is clear to follow and I have lots of support from both my employer and the apprenticeship Centre

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer is very supportive, I am given time to complete any course work for my apprenticeship and they help wherever they can. I am very happy with my employer with the support and help they have and continue to provide to me. they are always happy to help x

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • i have received more than enough support from my training provider, they are in contact often and always available open request. we have monthly meetings to insure i am on track and if i need any help with anything. In between the meetings they are always available for assistance too

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • the qualification will and has helped me perform my role better as it will ensure that i am qualified and able to progress in the business. this qualification can help me move my way up in the business and opens up different opportunities that may not have been available to me before

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • in my work there are always social activities available, that may be meals or events organized by the company both socially and professionally for the business and staff. It is a very welcoming and fun environment with lots to get involved in if you want to or if not x

  • Yes

  • i would recommend engie to a friend because i have enjoyed my experience here so far and i am very happy here already. everyone is welcoming and friendly towards me. The company itself is a fantastic business to work for and you can see that by talking to the staff that work here


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Equans?
  • Make sure you research the business to see what it is that engie do, as there are different elements to the business both construction and energy provider. Be yourself and be motivated. Engie are friendly and sociable so if that is you then you will fit in very well with the other staff
