  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work as the point of call on a Facilities management contract. As the Workflow Performance Supervisor, I am in charge of making sure any jobs that are raised are allocated to the correct engineer, and I also make sure Preventative Maintenance is done on the assets on all the contracts site. I also help with the billing of this, and get involved with ad-hoc projects.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • One of the big skills I have developed through the apprenticeship is my planning skills. It has highlighted how important it is as a manager to plan your day, so you can really make the most of it. I have also had the chance to practice presentations, and get involved with my contracts finance team

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the courses I go on, as it give me a safe environment to try new skill in, and the chance to catch up with the others on the course. The work that I have to do outside the course can be difficult to complete, as I have a full time job that needs to be done as well.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure is simple and effective. We have all training dates booked in, so I know when I am away. The induction was clear, and I have various people I can ask for support from. All in all, I am happy with the structure of the programme and where I stand in it.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Equans to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I believe ENGIE invest in their people, which is so important to me. The fact I have been given a chance to upskill myself, and network like I have, has been really good for my development. I ave also made some great friends in both my day to day job and on the course!

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Equans?
  • ENGIE really like well driven, punctual and innovative people. If you can show a desire to learn and a willingness to adapt, this will go along way. ENGIE will reward hard working people, so if you do work and can show this, that will help. Also show any teamwork experience, as ENGIE would like to see that.
