  • My day to day business involves helping my colleague gather orders for subcontractors, go onto site to see work progress, measurements on buildings and landscape, find subcontractors to complete work that needs finishing on our different sites. Compare and analyse cost sheets to ensure that budgets are being kept t0

  • I have learnt many new skills from working within an office environment and going out onto site more. I have also developed some of my existing skills such as working in teams as I now work within an office environment so I am working with a lot of new people

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the programme that I am on as I enjoy learning about construction and about how buildings are made. I enjoy learning and practical work within the office as it is a good balance and mix. The programme exceeds my expectations as I feel that the programme I am doing will benefit me in the future.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme I am on is very well structured and there is a lot of support from my college and CITB, me and my mentor have regular meetings which allows me to see how I am getting on with my work and college. The training I receive is also very good

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer gives me lots of support as my manager is always checking that I am happy and that my college course is going well. My mentor gives me lots of support as he is checking my work and making sure that i understand everything as well as my apprenticeship officer.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive support from CITB on my college work and they make sure that my college course is going well which allows me to get my qualification and to get my work done as I know if i have a problem at college i will be able to get support from CITB

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think that my qualification helps me in my role as I learn terminology at college which i can then use at work and other terminology i hear at work i can learn about what it means at college, i also feel like i know more about the industry from college

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Engie have voluntary events that can raise money for different organisations and activities that employees can do, also, Engie also have charity events in and outside of the office to raise money such as walks and charity cake sales. Engie are also doing a charity sky dive in the next couple months

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Engie are a very efficient company and they made me feel very welcome when i first joined, they look after their employees and they offer a vast variety of jobs with very good progression routes. They are also paying for all my qualifications which is good as i know some other companies do not offer that


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Equans?
  • I would tell any one who is thinking of applying to engie to be confident and to work hard on making good relationships with their colleagues as it is a large company who has a lot of employees therefore it is important to have a good relationship with the people you work with
