Prep of starter section while getting rest of kitchen set up (if on a early shift) through shift - ensuring meals are kept to spec & ensuring health and safety is kept well - keeping kitchen clean. Having great communication skills with other chefs and front of house staff When they put orders through.
My upper management and fellow chefs always ensuring I have the latest and up most knowledge of the industry so I can get the most out of my job &set me up for the rest of my career. Knife skills - how to plate up - what gets kept where is a big thing.
I enjoy all aspects of my programme & communication with other people - I like cooking obviously & being able to learn as i go throughout my apprenticeship - everyone is lovely &my trainer supports me throughout everything even if it is not related to work issues ,looking forward to progressing within the company
It is fairly ok. - NOT to many assessments but not to little either - fairly straight forward to knowing what's what in regards to anything and everything - if there are any issues they are well ironed out so there will not be any issues for the furure (fingers crossed!) But is ok
Not a awful lot of support - this could be a lot lot better - especially mental health support- when you're off on sick leave - they're not fully behind on my apprenticeship stuff Which can be very very annoying at times - since my trainer only visits every 4 to 6 weeks
I receive lots of help and guidance towards learning and pushing on for the future & I'm now looking forward to pushing onwards and upwards throughout apprenticeship through lifetime training - my trainer keeps meetings fairly straight forward and keeps it fun so I'm not going to get bored easy
I receive lots of help and guidance towards learning and pushing on for the future & I'm now looking forward to pushing onwards and upwards throughout them as the training provider has many years experience within the hospitality and catering industry which you don't get anywhere else which is a bonus
There is not many locally (within the Yorkshire and humberside riegon) but there is an odd one in London depending what you're into for social events - I'm not very into networking events as I'm not told about these through upper management which is annoying at times when you want to get involved with social side
No
They can be awful towards needing time off (no fault of my own ) and feel at a disadcantage through this - there was a lot about Greene king I was not aware off which makes things difficult which I felt like I should've known previously woudlve helped Lots prior to starting
Heavily research Greene king - I cannot stress this enough to anyone ! Seriously do it before you even consider applying so you know what you're getting yourself into- I don't want anyone going through what I went through. But each to there own and someone else may say different
