My role consists of optimising and designing new customer journey's throughout AO.com's current website. This is also supported with creative artwork such as display adverts, homepage banners, merch banners, lister page banners and promotional flags. I have also worked on design brand pages as well as create emails and brochures.
I have learnt how to better utilise photoshop as well as learn much new software from the adobe creative suite such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe XD and Adobe InDesign. I had the opportunity to work within many customer lab sessions, where I built my overall confidence and customer research skills
I enjoyed the ability to learn new things and to be made to feel like an adult. The teams I have worked with have always been very friendly and supportive both from AO and from Estio Training. I Enjoyed being given the responsibility to complete bigger projects, this helped me build confidence.
My Programme could have been structured better, we spent 3-6 months with no syllables because there was a lack of communication from both sides. With this said, the actual work with both sides was cohesive. If given the opportunity I'd do it again, but I'd spend time understanding more about the other job roles.
The support from my employer is amazing, Any difficulties that I faced, they have always been very supportive. Whether there was a personal issue, a work related issue, or even an appreticeship based issue, they were always there to support me. AO want you to succeed, and if that means by failing a few times before you get the result, they ensure that you are always performing to the best of your ability.
I received a stellar amount of support from Estio, they always made sure that I understood what I needed to do, were very patient, and very much treated me as an adult. I at no point felt like I was being schooled, rather, I felt more as if we were in a meeting and I was learning the key points to that meeting.
In truth, I learnt more through my role than the actual course side of the apprenticeship. The course helped me understand the fundamentals of Digital Marketing, which helped me understand what different teams do, but the actual learning on the job was far more beneficial for me as that's how I felt I learnt best.
AO is always holding extra-curricular activities such as DofE Gold Award, Star Program, Three Peaks Challenge and also pay half of any event you and your team would like to go on. AO support and encourage all teams to take part and get involved in more extracurricular activities, an example of this would be the Gym membership that we receive at a subsidised amount.
Yes
It's a great and fun place to work with lot's of benefits, friendly people, with strong values. AO really know how to have fun. They allow for opportunites to grow, and are very supportive and patient, they care just as much for the staff than they do for their customers.
