  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Everyday I check my emails to see which accounts are in demand of timesheets and invoices. I also check internal websites to see the whereabouts of client payments. If there are overdue payments then I chase the client to see where the payment is and ask for an expected time for payment.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I work on a team where our everyday role is working with Finance. This includes working with a lot of numbers, and to help us manage these numbers we use excel documents with generated formulas to make our life easier. I didn't have great knowledge on formulas or using excel but now I feel pretty confident with using excel on a day to day basis.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I love my programme. I feel like I've got the best of both worlds with it with being able to complete a degree in an area that really interests me, and then work on a day to day basis on a role i love, whilst also earning money and lots of experience!

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • We have a weekly structure, therefore we work in the business on our role Monday - Thursday, and then every Friday we attend either college or uni to work towards our degree. This works really well because its nice have a day out of the office weekly and in a new environment for learning new skils.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • A lot of support. I know I can always go to them if i have any issues regarding my role work or college work, or any other worries I may have. We have also been given a variety of contact details which is really helpful to see how much support I can receive if need be.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We have recently been told that we get 8 days of studied work which is really helpful. This means that on top of the college days we have, we also get 8 days to use. These days are for the purpose of catching up, or if you have an assignment due, then working on that.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My role doesn't really link with the qualification that I'm doing, but i know that i have the option to move roles so if it came to the time where id like to move to a more technical role, then i know this would link in with the qualification better.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are loads of different clubs and societies you can join through work. Another advantage is that if there's a club you want to join, but it doesn't actually exist, then you can work on starting this new club up. There are also many events for networking throughout the year.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Accenture to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Its an amazing company to work for! You get so much support with anything you do, and you are offered the best opportunities personal to you. There are so many chances to rotate within the business and see how everything links in and pulls together. Overall, it's such a supportive, great company to work for!

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Accenture?
  • Make sure that you're positive and open to any opportunities that you're presented with. There's no better way than being 'thrown in the deep end' because its so easy to find your feet and find your place due to all of the supportive people around you, and the support the company gives you. Don't be afraid to try thing!
