  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I'm currently on the DWP project on a DevArch team. My day to day tasks include mostly system-administrator work as well as automation. The team I am in just like many others within Accenture is supportive and helps new apprentices like myself pickup new skills and learn at a steady pace that isn't too overwhelming.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, I have learnt Linux Command Line and many different useful tooling which will be very useful to me in my careers journey. Most of the stuff I have learnt has been on my role but I also picked up key skills during bootcamp such as Java and some C++

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the workflow I receive as it challenges me to try and think outside of the box and if I cant figure it out there is always the support to show me how through my team. The company culture is excellent as they offer many different events and opportunities to get involved with. The company has went above and beyond my expectations by giving me full enjoyment and a reason to get up in the morning!

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The introduction starts with a 8 week bootcamp which helps to give you a flavor of what each capability offers and help you figure out what role you want to go into. You also do plenty workshops which help you get a base understanding of some key technical skills and some great equally important non-technical skills. There is plenty support along the way.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Plenty of support. Even after the bootcamp stage you have plenty of people you can turn too about anything and they will help you no matter what it is. The guidance they will offer is structured and they really do care for which direction your apprenticeship goes in and are always just a email or a Skype message away.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Our tutors give lots of help and support. If you feel you are struggling or falling behind they offer plenty opportunities to stay back with them in a 1 on 1 environment to help you get through your qualification. The tutors attitude towards supporting you is very professional and will help you enjoy your qualification.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The things I am doing in my qualification can be linked in with my work so it all flows very well. Information I am learning at college can help me re-evaluate that knowledge on my role and see how it all fits together which not only allows me to work on my role to a higher degree but it also allows me to get a deeper understanding in my work.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Plenty social activities. There is a huge Christmas party at the end of the year. Loads of events throughout the year such as TAG events where TAG hire out a venue and you got have some drinks perhaps some pizza and really gives you a opportunity to socialize with others in the company!

  • 9a. Would you recommend Accenture to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Its an amazing opportunity and it really is one of the best digital I.T apprenticeships out there at the moment. Everything they offer is better compared to any other apprenticeship. The only reason I would have picked any another apprenticeship before I joined was if they were doing something specific that I cared about but Accenture was doing a broad spectrum of stuff and no other company was doing something I was genuinely passionate about.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Accenture?
  • In the application process make sure you stand out from the crowd while also displaying those key qualities that everyone should have when coming to Accenture. A can do attitude. Punctual and most importantly just having a general passion for technology because even though when you come into Accenture you can go into some non-technical roles the company mainly revolves around technology.
