My current role at Accenture is a software tester. Day to day i test code for clients that work with Accenture. This includes attending meetings, creating test designs, test preparation and execution while working in an Agile environment.
I have learnt new technical skills such as writing Java, SQL, C# along side developing more of the more non-technical skills such as communication, working in and leading groups.
I enjoy the apprenticeship programme as every day i am learning something new and facing new and difficult challenges that i am able to overcome. The employees at accenture are all very friendly and helpful - they are always happy to help whenever it is needed. I get on with my team well which is also a benefit. I enjoy attending university and working towards my degree - the work load doesn't feel too much.
The programme is well structured - Monday to Thursday I come into work and sit with my team on my role. Every Friday all apprentices attend University so there is a consistent structure.
At accenture, the support from management is good. Managers on the account i work on are approachable and friendly and are just as happy to help as all other employees. I have monthly meetings with my career counsellor just to catch up which is a good form of support.
The university give good support in helping me work towards my qualification with the exception of a certain lecturer.
The qualification i am completing has aspects that completely help me with my role and some that dont. Although the topics that dont would help if i decided to change role.
team nights out, account nights out, charity days (each employee gets three charity days to use per year where they can take time out of work to take part in a charity event), TAG events for apprentices/graduates, Networking events in which everyone is welcome
Yes
Accenture is a highly looked upon company to work for and their apprenticeship scheme is good. You get a degree out of it as well as a good salary that increases each year. Accenture also has many benefits such as: private health care, a good pension, paid gym memberships etc
To others applying for Accenture i would say to just be yourself in the Interview process. Be chatty and confident and don't worry to much about it as the interviewers are all very friendly. Have clear goals and show an interest in technology.
