  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role as a resourced and advisor consists of looking after our operational recruitment and also our outbase recruitment. It’s all about retention and getting the right people in the right place at the right time. Also I have access to our database and can CV search and talent spot for our talent in the workplace

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learn how to communicate on a wider basis, understand the background knowledge of recruitment. Also how to use recruitment system accurately and follow our recruitment process from start to finish. I have also learnt a lot of excel skills and people skills that I never knew I had before.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I love what I do and also the people that have taught me what I know now. I have come on so much in my confidence and I love that I get to learn on the job. I feel a sense ofnprode every time I successful achieve either a module of a piece of work set and that makes me enjoy it even more

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It’s massively organised by the company unfortunately the college has let me down from time to time. But never the less someone from the company is alwasy there to support me. I know what I need to do and when and also who is there to help me when I can’t answer points of my coursework.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • A huge amount they are a crucial part in my success so far. There is someone alwasy their to help me with workload and understand where I need support. I have time out of the day to complete coursework and also can ask for a smaller workload when I have a lot on the help me achieve the best I can.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The training provide at the beginning was great they were there at all times? However gradually this disappeared and the communication got weaker and my tutor change several times without knowledge which was difficult. However in the end I was happy with the help I was given and the support shown .

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I do feel the knowledge of my college course has helped me massively in the understanding of my role and the policies I should be following. I now am a lot more confident when working due to the insight I now how within the role I do and the challenges I face never are as there is alwasy somewhere with an answer

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes I have been lucky enough to complete the duke of Edinburgh gold award and also been able to meet new people through apprentice network programmes. I have been to so many places within the company and met so many amazing company’s and inspirational people who now I call connections.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Because I have gained so much support throughout my time and I feel I am a better person in a working environment and personal. The company really want the best for you and truly show that in everything the do. They will push you out of your comfort zone and allow you to flourish.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to AO?
  • Be yourself. We want people with the best attitude and who want to learn. At AO you get out what you put in. We have a culture at AO and if you are caring, driven,bold, smart and fun then you will fit in perfectly well with us Here at AO.
