  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My Business Administration apprenticeship was made up of three placements. My first placement was a secretary/ admin role, this involved taking phone calls, responding to emails and setting up meetings. My second placement was within Document Control, my daily role involved issuing and removing documents from the intranet. My final placement was in Resourcing, this involved managing internal and external recruitment campaigns e.g. publish job adverts, setting up interviews and preparing offer letters.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme was well structured, it consisted of two 6 month placements and one 12 month placement. We were informed of our placement moves around a month before we moved, giving sufficient time to organise hand over plans, travel plans and building moves. We also attended Gen 2 once a month, the dates for this were given to us at the start of the programme so I was kept fully informed.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • We received support from the scheme owners, as and when we required it. We also had regular 1:1 meetings with the scheme owners to discuss the progress of our placement. We also received support from the Apprentice Training Team, when we required it. They held meetings throughout my apprenticeship with all of those completing the Business Administration apprenticeship.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We attended a training day at Gen 2 once a month, while completing our NVQ. They provided us with support on completing the assignments and guided us if there was any queries with the assignments. Our Gen 2 assessor also came to visit us at our workplace to help complete assignments and sign off parts of the NVQ. If we had any queries we could email the assessor and they would respond within a timely manor.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Completing my NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration helped me perform better within my role as it required me to complete tasks for my assignments, that I would not usually have completed within my daily role, such as minute taking. It also helped me perform better within my daily tasks such as answering the phone, and emails as I was required to provide a wide range of evidence on these for my assignments.
