1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

- Shadowing members of the corporation tax team in the Reading office. - Completing projects including tax packs, computation reports, filing, administration and letters. - Participating as a member of the corporation tax team.

- Attention to detail - Meeting deadlines - Money laundering

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

- Quite a lot - Real insight into day to day life as an accountant.

4. How valued do you feel by BDO?

Slightly - only being a Summer Schooler means that obviously I am not as important to the team as any trainees or managers, but rightfully so as I do not have any experience. I also did appreciate the fact that they distributed laptops - that made me feel welcome.

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?

Slightly structured, no clear programme to follow, just completing any tasks set to me.

A lot - whenever I am unsure of something they always help me resolve the issue to a high standard.

Quite a lot - the whole team from the top down seem happy to help whenever an issue crops up.

8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?

Yes, after being in the office just 7 days, I have already visited 2 restaurants with my collegues and participated in a football match against a law firm!

Yes

BDO seem like an all round top employer, certainly one I would look to work for in the future. Their reputation is also exceptional, claiming many accolades, including being the market leader for client service.

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BDO?

Try and relate the core values of the firm to your application and give solid examples of when you may have displayed these qualities.
