  • Your day-to-day tasks can change depending on what client you are working for. There are so many different industires that we work in that no two projects will ever be the same, keeping the job exciting. Roles can range from anything from End to End Testing, to Programming to even Project Management.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • During my time here at Accenture I have learnt many new skills. I have participated in the DevOps Acadamy where I was able to learn what it takes to be in a DevOps Team. I have also learnt skills such as SQL Database and how to use End to End Testing software.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • If i was to be totally honest, at first the organisation of the programme was a little messy. We were told we were going to be gaining our degree from on university however we ended up enrolling to a completely different one. However with that aside the organisation of it has improved massively. We have great support systems at Accenture that help us get through and to balance our work and study life style.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • As I mentioned in the question before, we do have a large amount of support as apprentices. We have our own career councilers, apprentice councilers, support from our university mentors and even the support from our peers. Being a large group of 30 means that there is always someone to help you when you're struggling.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We do have support from our uni, we get checked up upon fairly regularly to make sure that we are all okay and managing our work load. The other day, the university held a meeting with key members where they were checking up on how we felt our course was going and what we would like to do for it to improve.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • What we learn at uni and what we do within our work mostly goes hand in hand. This helps us to be better employees at Accenture as we have more of an undertsanding of what we need to be doing in our roles and be the best person we can be. It also allows us to bring our experience into our degree so we can help maximise our marks.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Towards the beggining there were a lot more professional networking events however at the moment they seem to be very rare. There was an ice-skating social for the apprentices however it seemed as though only selected people were invited which made me feel a little left out. I wasnt the only Apprentice who wasn't invited so it would have been nice to include everyone.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Accenture to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It has been a great experience to gain amazing work experience in such a well known, reputable company and be able to get a degree from it. I have helped out at many recruitment events, including The National Apprenticeship Show where I helped to promote this scheme as i feel as though it is such an amazing opportunity.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Accenture?
  • Be yourself, show your personality. You can be taught skills but you can't be taught a personality. Show how passionate you are for Technology and how this is the career path you want to go down. Show how willing you are to learn and that you are here to learn rather than the pay cheque.
