  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Rotation based apprenticeship with each one being 6 months long. Day to day your role can change from being anything like managing the bidding process for new opportunities that come up to looking at the firms VR/AR capabilities. You spend two years on this scheme before going to the graduate scheme.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • The firm offers training in a variety of different subjects at various points in the year such as excel, soft skills and other topics. Since joining, I’ve learn a lot about the industry of consulting such as competitors, pricing models and how to present to an excellent standard which helps in all aspect of life.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The ability to vary your role with emphasis put on doing addition activities, the rotation nature and the friendly culture here is what makes this an amazing place to work. You are supported with your qualification by being given day release to go to college and overall you feel very supported.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is very well organised and structured. Reviews are constantly being done to look at the length of rotations and where the scheme leads to and whether you things should be done differently which makes you feel optimistic about change. You feel good overall had that feeds into job satisfaction.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • You get support in many forms such as day release for college, regular training, well being training, specific managers for your performance, access to people who will support you at any point and the same benefits as any other employee. You do not feel differentiated when you’re here it’s great.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • As mentioned previously, you are fully funded and giving time off to go to college. You are also given time off to study in the form of study leave. Further more you have 247 access to the building to use for study needs when you are not working. That means coffees and desk space.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification is broadly focussed on business and consulting so it does help however it isn’t focussed on your day to day work. There is reviews being done to ensure the qualification is appropriate and there is more opportunity to do qualifications as you progress through your career such a short CIMA.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are all types of sports teams and communities at pwc that are funded by the company hence you are able to do what you love in your spare time and you can meet people from different disciplines in the business with ease whilst learning new skills. It is an amazing aspect of things.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It’s a great place to work, with the correct support in place and access to a network of very skilled people who can assist in different ways. You have opportunities to do all types of work with all types of relevant qualifications. You can progress through your roles trying new things.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
  • Practice practice practice. You will need to do the online practice you are sent and make sure you have the correct soft skills which are developed through work experience placements and volunteering opportunities. Brush up on your basic maths for the online tests and keep your mind sharp through reading.
