  • I work in toxicology, which is primarily an office based role. I work with study directors to issue protocols, amendments and reports. Also, I regularly attend ethical review meetings and scientific talks.

  • I have learnt how to communicate with different age groups and improved my IT skills. I am now able to use new software.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my apprenticeship, as it allows me to learn on the job. I find this is a more practical way of learning and allows me to engage more. I work 4 days a week and have 1 day to study.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My apprenticeship is organised and consistent. My manager and myself know what I should be doing and when I should be studying.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I am supported a lot from my employees. I have two managers, a mentor and regularly speak with the early talent team.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I see my training provider for formal reviews every 3 months and can contact them via email whenever I have a question.

  • I have yet to complete a module that relates directly to my work role.

  • I have attended scientific symposiums, team lunches and apprentice events. These include parties and quizzes.

  • It is a well structured programme and apprentices are treated no different to full time employees.
