  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role requires me to work for various clients. We conduct audits and assurance based work for such clients of which I do with my engagement teams.I work on my laptop and hours range typically from 9am till 6:30pm. I work face to face with clients and ask for deliverables we need such as bank statements, in order to conduct the audit the process. I then document this on file. I tend to ask for help and report back to the in-charge or manager on my team. I also provide regular updates of my progress to my PwC team and to the client

We also did some professional exams

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed the programme very much as it helped me to become a well rounded individual. There are a variety of socials e.g. at Christmas and regular monthly socials within your social group. This is enjoyable as it gives you opportunity to unwind and network with colleagues. The programme can be challenging at times and encourages you to increase your responsibility and workload, however this tends to be very rewarding

  • Extremely valued, you are praised for good work through a feedback process. PwC also has a formal recognition award whereby you can be nominated for good progress and work by your peers. • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • This is a fairly basic salary as expected by industry standards I think. The salary is a set standard which tends to be in line with what other colleagues within the firm who are of a same or similar grade in the form of experience tend to get. Salaries tend to be in line with what industry competitors give, or in the same bracket or range. The salaries are not kept confidential and you will know what colleagues are paid based on their grade this ensures no wage discrimination usually

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • I have worked very closely with initiatives such as school volunteering projects. The firm also dedicates one day a year for everyone to volunteer for a socially responsible event of our choice in groups, this is very interesting and enjoyable as it means you can give back to the community. They make you feel happy you can help with things such as the environment and charity work

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
  • Research PwC and their values beforehand, this can be found on the PwC website. Practice interview skills and do practice psychometric tests beforehand. Have mock interviews with friends beforehand and practice what you are going to say as this will prove useful to calm nerves for you. Be confident and present yourself in a very positive light. Use examples when answering interview questions
