  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • As Accenture is a technology consultancy company out roles can differ depending on which client we work for. I have worked on a number of roles ranging from technical analyst to business analyst. Therefore my tasks have included : liaising with clients, analysing data, creating wireframes, creating presentations, assisting with business process documentation tasks etc

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • My basic business soft skills have improved significantly i.e. excel, powerpoint etc. I also have grasped a basic understanding of coding e.g. SQL etc

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Accenture is a very friendly company, so I always feel comfortable approaching new people regardless of their career level. I like the fact that the course is flexible enough to accommodate those who have IT experience and those who do not. I also like the variety of skills I have been able to learn about through this course.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Accenture?
  • Accenture offer the apprentice of the year award for hard working apprentices. There are also opportunities to be recognised by the project you work on. I have recently received recognition from my project team who thanked me for my contribution to the project.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is very well structured as it is tailored to fit around working and university life. Accenture also offer apprentices 100 hours of study days per year to help stay up to date with deadlines.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I have a good relationship with the assessor from our training provider, who regularly checks my progress for my work based project. Support for modules varies from tutor to tutor, but overall the support is decent.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have regular meeting with my Apprentice ambassador (a senior manager within Accenture), who ensures that everything is going okay for me. I also meet with my career counsellor from time to time, to discuss my career goals.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Very well, considering I am still living with my parents. I am able to cover all of my living, travel and social costs with the salary.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Yes; Accenture offers employees 100s of opportunities to grow and network outside of work. As an apprentice I am apart of the Technology Analyst Group, who hold networking events on a quarterly basis. I am also apart of the AACN network. There are also many opportunities to volunteer as Accenture offer 3 charity days to their employees.

  • 9. Would you recommend Accenture to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The degree programme is an excellent way to earn and learn. It also gives young people the opportunity to start their career early and avoid debt.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Accenture?
  • To ensure that they really emphasise their passion for technology during the application process, as well as showing that they demonstrate a positive attitude and are willing to learn.
