Working alongside managers to complete important tasks at work. Everyday is unique, different requirements per day. I am expected to be punctual to work, in terms of uniform and timings, this is so that you doesn't effect your colleagues work as well as yours.
I have become very efficient when it comes to completing repetitive tasks, this is very important as it made me learn the importance of accuracy in work, as it maybe client work so immense focus is required. I have also learnt how to code in three different languages, Java, CSS and HTML, thanks to the university collaboration with the course.
I'm over the moon with my programme, its given me work skills at such a young age and given me the confidence to keep going to become the best person employee I can be. I expected the programme to be intense, and I was correct, however this intensity comes with satisfaction on completion of the tasks.
I feel appreciated through the company. My Managers understand that I have recently left College/Sixth Form and I'm taking upon a big job of studying and working. It is easy for me to talk with managers if the workload is getting too much, as they understand I also have another key priority of completing my university degree.
The programme has been structured so that every apprentice has support from numerous internal colleagues, who are designated Business ambassadors and Career Councillors. My role in my team is also very clear, I support the Test Team with a vast array of tasks, allowing me to learn various parts of the business.
My university provides no extra support if we are struggling at university, they expect us to raise this issue within our projects and to gain extra time there, which isn't right. There should be a attitude to allow for individual or group sessions for topics which students are finding challenging.
My employer provides me with all the support i could ask for.I have 4 people whom are dedicated to me and I may contact them in case of any problems. The company knows my situation regarding studying and work at the same time, and they encourage us to speak up if we have any problems and to get them addressed, they understand that my issue could be a common issue for others who may not be speaking up.
My salary seems basic, as I dont think it considers travelling to work and university. due to travelling alot for work it becomes hard to apply for events as it would mean spending even more money on travel. However in the third year of the course the salary seems more conventional.
Yes, Loads. We get regular emails updating us on the events available to which we can sign up to if we please. However, I think that sports events such as football aren't brought forward much. Outside of work I like to socialise with some of my work and outside friends. It would be better if we had sports for just apprentices to network in.
Yes
Accenture is a Diverse company. It allows everyone to feel welcomed in the company and to flourish.
Be yourself and confident. Don't spend too much time thinking about what to say as this will make you waffle or even forget what to say. The best thing to do is make it seem like you are having a conversation rather than an interview, this will help the fluidity of the interview and make the pauses less noticeable.
