In my current project, my role is a SME in Splunk. My job is to create dashboards and reports to show data that would be useful to the project team and to the business.
Yes. I have learnt a lot of new programming languages and it has been an amazing experience. I have also developed a lot of soft skills such as presentation skills and confidence.
I have really enjoyed the programme so far including working with various teams on my projects, working in the company (various community), and other apprentices. There was a new task for me everyday on my project.
I feel very valued because all managers on my project including our project manager and managing directors have been very pleased with the work I was doing and the way I was making reporting and monitoring easy for the whole project team.
The programme is well organized. However, given that we go to the university every Monday and have 2-week block trainings, I believe the 2 week block training should be split up into 2 1-week block trainings to allow apprentices some time to learn and understand the modules before moving onto the new modules.
We have good support from our training provider as well as there are some lunch time sessions that we could go to in order to understand areas that we are struggling with.
We have full support from our employer as they are very understanding in terms of the difficulties and the issues we may face as apprentices and they do try and help us manage our work and get some work load of us if needed.
I feel our salary meets some of the costs such as living and travel costs but not all costs and not for everyone, thus I think our salary can be improved.
Yes, there are a lot of events that we can go to and increase our network.
Yes
Accenture simply brings the best out of a person. Accenture allows every employee to raise concerns (if any) without hesitation. Accenture provides their employees with many resources in order to learn new technology. Accenture implements new technologies and provides the best to their clients. I believe if you are into technology then there is no better choice than Accenture.
I would say to keep on learning and don't be afraid to learn new technologies. Everyone at Accenture does understand that some things may take up some time to learn depending upon the employee's speed and how complex the technology we are trying to learn is. Reach out and find your opportunities, they won't always knock on your door.
