I work on the Artisan Studio as a crafts person and take on a different role everyday like for example inking, stitching, prepping, finishing and many more to help my team make the bags to achieve target each day.
I have learnt all new skills, because I had no previous experience in this kind of job and my apprenticeship helped me develop them as I was fully trained throughout the whole year, learning the majority of the jobs done on a production line.
I enjoy everyday because I love being hands on and having work to do to meet targets which keeps me motivated and I have made lots of lovely friends with the people I work with.
I feel valued because as an apprentice I was very well looked after, I was already part of the team, being involved in the production lines quite soon after I first started.
Both working at the factory and at college was balanced well and we had plenty of time to complete the course. Due to the change of my apprentice trainer near the end of my course I feel like I could have learnt more in the time scale, but have done very well since then.
Bridgwater college were very supportive throughout the whole year, seeing them a day every week, having monthly meetings and contacting them over email whenever I needed to was very helpful.
I was looked after at the start of my apprenticeship very well, but near the end when the handover of mentors / trainers took place we were left a bit to carry on by ourselves.
The apprenticeship pay at Mulberry is much better than most other places and was enough for me only because I was living at home with my parents still. For my age I think it was decent and has gone up a good amount since I started.
The company puts on loads of events outside work including two big work parties in summer and at Christmas which everyone enjoys.
Yes
I enjoy the job I do, the people I work with and the hours are great having half a day on Friday's and weekends off.
Research the company, find a suitable way to get to work and make sure you listen well in the assessment activities so you know exactly what to do.
