My Job title is Software Engineer in the Salesforce DU. Daily tasks include organising and attending meetings, interaction with colleges and clients every Skype and Email as well as completing tasks on the Office suite and testing for the Salesforce .
New skills I have developed have included in coding such as with languages in Java, Python, Ruby and SQL. In my department I have also been exposed to Apex (A Salesforce language similar to Java). I have also been on internal training courses for Design thinking and Salesforce programmes in the Marketing Cloud area.
I really enjoy the programme. The work is balanced so that it is challenging but not too hard and I've been exposed to good people who are friendly and happy to help with any issues or questions you might have.
Capgemini is great for ensuring that you're valued. They recognise you as an individual with your own strengths and weaknesses and find ways to support this. There is a scheme setup called 'Applaud' which is used effectively for internal valuing.
The program is well structured with a defined introductory period and then regular studying blocks set out which are coordinated with the work you do.
I have plenty of support provided by my training provider. They make themselves available easily over email and there is regular weekly contact which provides the opportunity for issues to be raised if they need to be.
The employer provides loads of support via regular calls and easy access over Skype or email. there is also self service HR which makes dealing with issues much easier.
The package is balanced to ensure that all travel and living costs of working on project are met and the salary is fair and there are clear poperunitys to improve upon it.
There are plenty of opportunities outside of work which are advertised within the company email. This includes company events which are social meet ups as well as volunteering events of a wide range of types.
Yes
It's a great opportunity for someone who chooses not to follow the traditional educational route but still wants access to a wide range of opportunities inside and outside of work.
Make sure you have an interest in technology and going into the working world. You don't have to be the brightest but you can always be the hardest working and coupled with an enthusiasm for work and just being yourself you'll excel at Capgemini.
