  • Devops - Working with managing the development environments, including updating and maintaining software installs through automation and various scripting languages including chef (ruby) and python.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Chef, Ruby, Java and Powershell. Also improved my ability to work directly on the Windows command line.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy being in the working environment, and having the opportunity to learn new skills and improve my current abilities by working with others in a team.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Capgemini?
  • I feel that I am pushed to succeed in both my daily work as well as the degree scheme that I am part of. I also feel that I am treated just as any other employee of the company is, and am given the same working opportunities.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well structured - the degree topics feed directly into your day to day work which helps with improving your learning.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Tutors and TAs are always readily available, and can be easily contacted at any time via Aston University Emails. Scheduled calls throughout the week as "Office Hours" allow us to ask questions and get assistance as we see fit.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Similar to above, all support teams are readily available via email. Should we have issues or queries, the individual to go to is clearly outlined.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • My salary allows me to live more than comfortably, whilst allowing me to take part in all of the social events and hobbies I take part in.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are plenty of extra curricular activities that take place via the University, as well as Cap also organising similar events, both of which I am notified of through email.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Capgemini is a great company to work for - you are given the opportunity to focus on any role you choose, learning new skills and improving existing ones in every case. Having the ability to learn new topics on the degree programme and then applying them in your day-to-day work really helps to reinforce the learning experience.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Capgemini?
  • Be open and honest about the skills you have and the areas you are interested in - the scheme caters for most areas of development and business fields. It's important to follow the path that best fits your interests and existing skills.
