Manufacturing technical apprentice Review

I am currently working in Industrial engineering department and my day-to-day includes looking at problems stopping manufacturing taking place. It also includes trying to find better and more efficient ways to do things. I interact internally with the team as well as lots of other departments within the company. Sometimes external interactions take place when we need to email companies about jigs or other products to support manufacture and the company.

Working within this department has taught me a lot of new skills and also developed old ones. I have also been on a few training courses and awareness sessions as well.

I very much enjoy the apprenticeship programme I'm on. The day-to-day work is great for developing skills and sometimes quite challenging which is good. I enjoy my day-to-day work a lot. The team that I work with are great and are all really helpful.

I feel very valued in my work. My manager has gave me a lot of appreciation and can give me important tasks knowing I will complete them correctly and I will speak to the correct people if I need help.

The apprentice management team have structured the apprenticeship well. There was a good induction and there is good support for training throughout the apprenticeship.

The college are there for support when required but aren't always very organised. My assessor within the work for my SVQ is always there to help when needed and always finds time to give quick feedback.

The employer provides great support. My supervisor and manager are always there to help or ask questions to and HR are great when you need to ask questions.

The salary is very competitive and through the company there are a lot of benefits that are provided. The location of the site is good and it costs very little to travel here.

There are a lot of opportunities through the apprenticeship to get involved in. There is also the chance to become a STEM ambassador and get involved in educating other people about engineering.

It is a very good company to work for and the salary is good as well as getting a qualification through the apprenticeship. There is a lot of people in the company with a lot of experience so it is a good place to learn new skills and develop old ones.

The applications process is done easily online but I would advise looking at it early so you have plenty time to fill it in. If your application is accepted then you will have to do some online tests then there will be an assessment centre which includes interviews and group tasks.
