  • Cyber Security Apprentice. Completing 4 placements over the 2 years, therefore a diverse and varying job. Working on a range of tasks and projects, with daily internal communication and interaction with external stakeholders where necessary.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Working towards a qualification with a training provider, whilst developing a wide range of diverse skills through involvement and participation in a corporate company. I have developed a wide range of personal and professional skills, including basic workplace etiquette, job-specific skills and improved personal skills such as presentation and confidence.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I thoroughly enjoy the work i am completing, as well as the team and the company i am surrounded by. It has exceeded my expectation as an apprenticeship provider, as i feel i am genuinely supported and valued within the company and the work i am completing is successful.

  • I feel like myself and the work i complete is valued by National Grid. I believe i receive appreciation for work completed to a high standard and able to be involved in a wide range of tasks.

  • my training provider is accessible through email and offers support when required.

  • I receive a huge amount of support from my managers and mentors, and support is offered 24/7.

  • Because of the support i have received, how enjoyable the scheme is and the opportunities made available to me.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to National Grid?
  • The process isn't as bad as you think it will be, prepare for your interviews, be yourself, they aren't trying to trip you up during the process.
