  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am an operations apprentice. Each day I am working with a skilled man/woman learning how they do their jobs so that one day I can pick a sector where I would like to work when I come out of my time as an apprentice.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt new skills following up from past experiences. I have been on multiple training courses which have enabled me to learn new skills but also have allowed me to meet people from other sites in the UK business and people from other sections of the company.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by MBDA?
  • I feel very valued by MBDA. Apprentices are treated very well as we are basically the future of the company. if we have any issues within the business we can bring it up easily and it gets sorted. we are always asked to be involved with experiences and projects and tours, we do a lot of volunteering and side work as well which we benefit from greatly.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • the programme is well structured, we started off by having necessary training so that we had a general knowledge of what we will be doing when we first came to the company which was good. the only problem there is with the organisation is the college problems we seem to all be having (not necessarily the businesses fault, more the colleges).

  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • it is a lovely company to work for, you enjoy being at work and its rather fun.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to MBDA?
  • if you are going to apply for a job at MBDA you should just be yourself within the company to a business extent, take responsibility for anything wrong you do because people will respect you more for it. It's a lovely community to work in and people are always willing to help you no matter what as long as you just show initiative and want to learn and work within the company.
