1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Senior Associate - Incharging jobs and representing firm. Assigning work to associates as well as completing my own work.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have passed all of my ACA exams and have learned a lot in the 3 years I have been doing placements for.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

It's hard work but the work is interesting. I enjoy getting to go out to lots of different client sites and understand how they operate as well as getting to work with lots of people.

4. How valued do you feel by PwC?

As there are lots of senior staff on different jobs it varies. Some are very good at making your work feel valued, others can be less helpful.

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?

The placements were very well structured with clear placement dates and roles during that placement. It is assigned to a specific office and there is no need to try and find my own work. Study time is provided when finished placement to allow you to study for your ACA exams.

6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?

There is lots of support from the university. They teach the modules whilst providing assistance on placement regarding studying that needs to be done. They prep us for professional exams that we will have to sit which is helpful.

6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?

PwC aren't too involved in studies as it is set by the university and the studying is done outside of work placement time.

7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?

Accommodation is covered by PwC during placement so the pay covers placements and helps cover living costs during this. This allows enough money to cover living costs and money to save for when back at university.

8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?

There are lots of opportunities to partake in activities such as rugby competitions, football tournaments, hockey tournaments. There is a skiing trip as well as month end drinks each month.

9. Would you recommend PwC to a friend?

Yes

9b. Why?

THe overall opportunity it has provided has meant I am now ACA qualified shortly after finishing university, with a headstart on professional experience and made a better start to my career than I would have without a sponsored degree programme.

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?

Make sure you are aware of what you are applying for and willing to work long hours and study for hard exams. For interviews make sure you do your research to be able to answer the questions.
