  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • The programme involved attending University full-time like a normal uni student. Therefore my day consists of lectures, labs and tutorials. In the summer, we are required to work for 10 weeks. The above structure is for the first 2 years of the programme, with the 3rd year being a full-year placement at PwC and the final year returning to uni.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The programme is a really enjoyable programme. It provides the best of both worlds (university and apprenticeship). I believe this degree apprenticeship is for those students who would do a degree in Computer Science regardless of whether PwC offered them a place. This would ensure a sincere interest in the subject from the student and the student is much more likely to take an interest in the degree. Then they could benefit from what PwC provides!

  • PwC is an amazing firm that does an amazing job at making you feel a real part of the firm. You aren't a number of a page and aren't considered a statistic. There is no micro management involved so you really feel like your own person and your own boss too.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • The training provider is a well established University and is also a Russell Group University so the training and the teaching there is impeccable. Of course, it is a University, and hence a lot of it does depend on the student but lecturers and tutors are always available to contact for support

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salary is a decent salary when taking into consideration that university fees are also paid off. The salary is enough to get by for the year, with some or very little money remaining. You essentially use the money for daily expenses and accommodation costs. Expenses involve things such as food and travel.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are a lot of opportunities outside of work. Both with the training provider and the employer. The employer has sessions running throughout the year to help us grasp a better concept of what teams we could work in and what the teams do. Also, the university has societies that you can join
