  • Tax associate daily tasks involve assisting with client documentation, attending client meetings, researching, creating internal training notes interactions with colleagues at all grades including partner level as well as with clients via telephone, email and at meetings

  • ATT tax qualification new knowledge of other taxes and mechanisms e.g. VAT, TP, SDLT as well as accounting concepts development of softer business skills e.g. confidence in speaking to a group, written communication, time management

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Although sometimes difficult to manage both study and client work, i enjoy the programme. Team is supportive and help if im unsure about something from college. Surpassed my expectations as I didnt think i would be given as much responsibility

  • Some internal recognition, not much client recognition is fed back to lower grades Snr staff do make you feel valued if you have gone the extra mile on a project

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • First year of the programme so some teething problems, but based on the new intake it seems well structured for the future - not many people knoew about the scheme in the office so alot of time was spent explaining it. Good general scheme induction, answered questions and immediate training given. People manager incredibly supportive as well as team and close bonds with peer group helps

  • Most tutors accessible outside of college, but I prefer to use the study notes and ask colleagues. Link exams are very helpful and in college tutors explain well.

  • People manager helpful, but most support comes from my team and peers on similar schemes

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Working in London is costly and its is too expensive relative to my salary to live in London, therefore cost of commute is around 25% of salary. For the work carried out, relative to charge out rate as well as to the grad scheme, I feel apprentices should be paid more

  • lots of socials and team-building/networking events

  • prepare and make sure you understand the scheme and have a good knowledge of the company have reasons as to why you are applying
