  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Software Engineer, creating new functionality for new or existing applications. Writing and testing code, conducting code reviews, working alongside the client.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Prior to joining Capgemini I had no experience in Java and always found the thought of becoming a Java developer scary. Capgemini have provided me with great support and resources to develop and are continually giving me new things to work on so I can grow.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I love my programme, although it is challenging I have learnt a vast amount in short space of time. I work in a team who are fully supportive of us and always willing to help and give advice when needed.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Capgemini?
  • Capgemini really look after us apprentices and we have always been treated as part of the team - even when first starting with very little experience. We are always receiving awards/praise for the work that we do and all opinions are taken on board.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The program has grown a lot since I first joined and is extremely well organised.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • We have a vast amount fo support available to us. Our tutors are on hand when ever we need them, even so that I was having difficulty understanding coursework requirements, emailed my module tutor and to which I had a response back within 30 minutes... On a Sunday! This has happened on several occasions with different tutors. The tutors always give you support when needed and always more than willing to help.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Capgemini give us great support, the Apprentice management team allow us to have an additional 22 days study per year and our managers are always keen for us to develop ourselves and provide guidance on ways we can do it.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I have no issues with any costs working for capgemini. They pay a really good wage which has allowed me to move out and live an independent life whilst studying.

  • Yes

  • Working for Capgemini has massively improved my life and I feel extremely grateful that I have been given the opportunity that I have. They are so supportive and have resulted in me working in areas that I wouldn't dreamed of before now.

  • Just be yourself and grab the opportunity with both hands. & do your company research...
