  • mechanical engineer, daily tasks is to program CNC machines making components prototypes and parts for other machines.

  • nvq lvl 2 mechanical engineering nvq lvl 3 mechanical engineering btec lvl 3 mechanical engineering various machining skills, reading and interpreting technical drawings, fitting

  • I enjoyed learning the new skills that I developed but also learning different and also better ways to do things.

  • I feel like I am valued by Cummins as I have been involved in other projects and task that they have trusted me to fulfil.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • extremely well organized as they send us to various different departments to learn different skills in those departments. They also let us have time to study and get on with our college work

  • we receive guidance with problems support with work and they usually have a good attitude towards helping us.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • we receive a math tutor if we find the maths at college to challenging to help us with our work. But we also have to opportunity to go round to other people within the company to help with other things.

  • I am able to cover all my expensive without any problemns

  • there are quite a few different opportunities outside work like the voluntary work that we do to help the community

  • Yes

  • because they look after your needs and if you have a problem they will help you out with it. Also they look after your health and wellbeing


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Cummins?
  • visit career events check you spelling and grammar is good on the application form. don't be afraid to speak out and talk to other people in the interview process and to ask lots of questions
