  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • my role at Cummins - ASSEMBLY APPRENTICE - I work on the assembly lines which consists of building a turbo from scratch which is separated into stations. e.g. in some circumstances a turbo may be separated into 15 stations. also as an apprentice we get chances to work in other departments off of the shop floor. I have spent time in kaizen,health and safety, and quality.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • going to college for a year I definitely learned new skills doing level 2, I'm a first aider at work which I think is a very valuable skill I have had the opportunity to learn. I have learnt how to work well in a team also

  • I have enjoyed my programme as I have been able to move around a number of departments learning different skills

  • I feel I am valued and are treat well at Cummins.

  • pretty well as I get to experience a few different departments instead of being stuck on the shop floor

  • plenty if theres any problems or queries i could talk to HR or i could also talk to the union who would do there best to help me out.

  • my salary covers my costs easily, I have plenty left over to spend on luxury's for example my car.

  • Yes

  • a company that looks after you, pays well, and you get a work around a group of friendly people. its a nice atmosphere to work in.

  • make sure you get your GCSE's
