  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I have taken up the role of managing an valuation team of 12. 6 of these being Director / Associate director. Responsibilities involve updating and maintaining monthly fee spreadsheets, holiday and sickness leave, flash forecasts, talking calls and messages for director level. Daily tasks include formatting and creating final/draft reports, creating PDF documents to attach to these reports, running conflict checks and creating contracts onto our bespoke system as well as creating and sending invoices to clients at end month.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • During this experience I have been able to work with a range of teams from marketing and development sales. Through this process, I have been given the opportunity to go on training courses like the following: excel, word, invoicing and C2B, Compliance and data handling. I am constantly learning new things from my manager who constantly pushes my knowledge and growth within my role.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The programme is extremely worth joining, the people I work around are a joy to work with and I enjoy coming in of a morning. When I first started, I was extremely nervous, how this feeling soon disappeared as I was welcomed into the team with open arms and was made feel welcome from the start. Everyone is helpful, friendly and social able as well as professional and formal. The company as a whole has a great work ethic and attitude to work.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by JLL?
  • My manager has been extremely helpful with my learning and growth. I have been told that I have come very far very early on in my programme which is rarely seen. I have been asked by other teams for some of my assistance however do to now having my own team to look after, my manager as had to say no. This highlights that I am doing a good job and other require my help around the business.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme follows a structure of a combination of on the job learning and off the job working. Having every other Monday with a teacher which guides us what we should be looking and setting us work to complete is extremely helpful. There are units and exams which are complete throughout the year which you are given plenty of time to complete during work hours as well as out of hours.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Our tutor/advisor is always available to contact. She provides us with a lot of information, advise and guidance on how to complete things. Her general attitude is always positive and will always put our learning before anything else.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The manager provides me with a lot of support. She will ensure I am completing tasks to the best of my ability and provides me with feedback monthly on what I am doing well and what I could do better. My mentor, an ex apprentice will follow my progress and ensure I am receiving what I need. Being in the same office, she is always around if I have any questions or queries.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • JLL provide me with travel allowance and cover the cost of all training needed for internal purposes. The salary is one of the highest apprentices schemes I have seen when looking. We are able to expense any client/staff entertainment we have as long this is signed off by our director.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Being in the City there are lots of opportunities to go out to many places. There are many lots of bars, clubs, gyms, restaurants and sports activities to get involved it. The company get involved with Charity work and marathons in order to raise money. I am going to run the Crisis 2 mile run this year and help the great cause.

  • Yes

  • JLL are a great company that provide career opportunity's that include a lot of guidance, support and training.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to JLL?
  • When applying for a role at JLL think, ensure you have any additional experience, qualities that will make you stand out from others. Do not be frightened of the assessment process, the interviews are extremity relaxed. As long as you show confidence in yourself you will be fine. The joining process is great to be apart. Lots of activities are organised by HR to get you involved and networking.
