I'm currently working in the functional side of my project. My role includes functional testing across multiple devices and browsers, updating Functional designs, defect management, as well as creating test scripts for offshore testers to follow.
I have developed on the soft skills used in day to day work - such as communication, problem solving, time management and team working. Not only this, but I am also completing a degree with QA alongside. So far I have completed my system development lifecycle module, and am underway with maths & algorithms and IT security principles
I enjoy the fact that I am primarily working, and learning as I am doing so. I feel that this is definitely a more beneficial method of learning for me. It has also allowed me to mix with such a diverse group of people. This has allowed for me to learn about different cultures and so on.
I feel very valued as a part of my project. My colleagues and line managers recognise my strong areas, and direct others towards me if they need help in such areas.
Very. We have very clear schedules as to what is expected of us. Ie complete training within certain time periods etc
We have 4 days of classroom training for each module of our degree we partake in
Managers accept that I have a degree running along side, and support me with training days and trying to incorporate areas that I will be covering in my degree in my day to day job
Travel costs are a massive chunk out of my pay check. So from here I find it hard to budget accordingly.
Yes, Accenture involves us in many social events
Yes
Because it is such a friendly and welcoming company. I feel like I have the support to do well and pursue a career here, and I would hope that others could feel that way too
The initial few months are hard because of the quantity of information you learn, and the getting settled into your role. But it does get easier. You have to ensure that you set enough time aside for coursework and revision, so you aren't cramming last minute!
